The ugly truth about feeling powerless is on the “edgy” side. On purpose. I'm not here to please you and i don't need your approval. This was written straight from my spirit to yours. right or wrong, it's stuff that i feel needs to be said. The ugly truth about feeling powerless.
The Ugly Truth about Feeling Powerless
Subject:a manifesto on the ugly truth about feeling powerless.
Location: Miami, Florida
What you will get out of this article: how to stop feeling powerless and take back control of your life. With no further ado, let's begin:
"The worst part of this? Knowing what I am capable of." he said.
Not my words.
This was emailed to me from a new member of Declare War Within. Let's call him John.
Little does John know, that I have received hundreds of similar messages from people just like him.
See, in his email, John was determined to make his life count. Yet, despite this noble intention.. he was wasting all of his time.
He wanted (positive change) yet continued to act in the (same negative patterns).
See, everyone that joins DWW has this level of awareness. Or you wouldn't be reading these words right now.
They want to create a better life for themselves.
Yet they continue to waste their precious life.
Let me tell you this right off the top. The only thing stopping you, is you.
The best of you vs. the worst of you.
The negative part of you (what we call the inner Enemy) knows you better than you know yourself.
In fact, it knows your true weaknesses and how to use it against you.
For John, it was low self-confidence.
An inability to do what he knows he needs to do.
This inner Enemy attacks us in a variety of ways.
For example some of DWW receive attacks through procrastination. Lack of discipline. Inability to have lasting positive energy. Zero motivation. No purpose or passion. Feeling submissive to life and people. Thinking they aren't good enough. Feeling jailed by fears. Destructive addictions. Bad habits. Discomfort in almost all social activities. Wanting others approval.
It goes on and on.
I feel the pain just writing that.
Every now and then, they find some internal strength to overcome feeling powerless and go hard on their goals.
Call this a 'hot streak' or whatever you want.
It lasts one week. A month. Maybe more, maybe less.
During this time of inspiration they feel powerful.
Strong. Disciplined. Determined.
Then poof. Lower than the lows of before.
It reminds me of a specific dinner I had with my family around 7 years ago.
It was a Friday night and despite our busy schedules we made the time for a lovely Shabbat dinner.
Imagine this for a moment.
Lucious food filled the table. Drinks where passed around.
Appetizers. Soup. First course. Second course. Dessert.
Despite being just four of us, there was enough food for 8 (Russian style).
So at dinner I remember giving a toast. With a delicious glass of red wine in my right hand. I don't remember the specifics but around 20 (ish) seconds into my speech...the air conditioning system turned off.
Pshhhhhcllluuuuuuck.
(Have you ever been struct with an insight?)
Hippies call it receiving a 'download' from the Universe.
It was one of those moments.
The whole dinner, we were all yelling at each other.
During my toast I was practically screaming.
I only noticed my voice once the A/C turned off.
See, the A/C was going on for the last twenty minutes but I was used to it. It was part of my reality. I completely tuned it out.
Only when it stopped making noise did I realize how bad it was.
Many of us live life the same way.
Maybe you noticed a time where you felt powerless. Weak. Stressed. Lacking confidence and strength. Closed in your comfort zone.
See, this internal feeling of 'powerlessness' becomes our A/C. We get used to it. We accept that this is just the way life is.
99% of the world accept feeling powerless as 'normal'.
Yet there is that 1%.
The ones that are waking up to the truth.
Like it or not. You are here. Reading these words.
You realize that it is possible to turn off the A/C. To destroy all traces of feeling powerless from your reality.
And this process, (while easy), begins with two buckets and a spoon.
One filled with muddy water, the other clean water.
Four hundred years ago in a distant village...
There was a young man who was fascinated with philosophy.
Most of his days were spent thinking deeply of himself and the world.
The other villagers thought he was just wasting his time with all his experiments.
Yet he continued despite the ridicule.
One day, lost in thought, he was playing with a spoon and a bucket of muddy water.
The water was murky and filled with dirt as it had been left standing there for weeks.
Yet, here he was, thinking about the world and his role in it, while mixing the muddy water like a soup.
Almost in a trance, he began to take a spoonful of the muddy water out of the bucket.
Like most inspiration, he was struct with an idea.
Another one of his 'experiments'.
He ran inside his mud house and took a clean bucket of water.
Other villagers would walk by him, watch him sitting under a tree with his two buckets and a spoon and laugh to themselves.
He didn't notice any of this as he was in a deep state of focus.
For the last 8 minutes he was scooping a spoonful of the muddy water and dumping it on the ground. Followed by a spoonful of the clean water and putting it in the muddy water.
Spoonful of muddy water out. Spoonful of clean water in.
After a while, the dark muddy water was becoming clearer and clearer.
5 minutes later, the once extremely dirty brown water was very clear. It wasn't perfect. You could still see some residue left, but it had completely transformed.
He leaned back against the tree closest to him in shock.
It all made sense.
This muddy water had given him his biggest realization to date.
Incase you haven't realized it, everything in life is a mental game.
The most important area in the entire world is between your two ears.
Your mind and what goes on inside of it.
Every day there is a spiritual war between your inner Enemy and your best self.
The war is fought through the immense power of thoughts.
Thoughts create your reality.
Most of the world (99%) have a mind of muddy water.
Most of these thoughts and (this is not your fault) came from your environment. Papa. Mama. TV. Friends. Family friends. Authority figures. Coworkers.
We just picked it up like a magnet and never questioned them.
Now it’s time to change it. It’s TIME to be the VIP bouncer to our mind. We only let the GREATEST thoughts come inside.
No more muddy water.
No more A/C of 'feeling powerless' playing in the background.
This process to becoming powerful starts with understanding the four superpowers that every human being on the planet has access too.
These are the cornerstone of anything you want to accomplish in this life.
If you wish to control others you must first control yourself
-Miyamoto Musashi on Feeling Powerless
The pathway to controlling yourself begins with the four superpowers.
These are within your control at all times.
That means they are choices. Choices that YOU are 100% responsible for.
Let's begin...
The Four Super Powers (Feeling Powerless Destructors)
1) The Superpower of Thought
Your thoughts create your reality.
You might've heard of this concept before, but let's go deeper.
Have you ever had a positive thought that wasn't packed with emotion and felt weak?
How about a positive thought that was filled with power and strength?
Now, the same question for negative thoughts?
Have you experienced a negative thought that immediately demoralized you? Or a negative thought that held no power and could be easily brushed off?
The answer for all of the above is an obvious yes.
We experience all of these on a day to day basis.
I want to give you a distinction between weak thoughts and negative thoughts.
See a positive or negative thought can be weak. Thoughts only become strong if they are repeated.
A repeated thought becomes a belief. A limiting belief is just a thought that no longer serves you that was repeated consistently over time.
To control and direct your mind to think a thought might be one of the more challenging activities in the world.
Here is a test for you:
Can you have 'no thoughts' in your mind for 15 seconds?
If you cannot (99% of people can't) you are a slave to your mind.
So in order to channel and improve this superpower you must think a useful thought repeatedly with focus. There is no other secret. It must be done one moment at a time.
Play a game with yourself. Every time you bring your mind back to focusing on what you want, you win one point. How many points can you get per day?
The more points = the more this superpower gets unleashed.
2) The Superpower of Words
Words are magic. That is why they are spelled.
This is ancient wisdom.
In every religion there is a form of 'I speak and I create'.
With the words you say, you co-create your reality. This is key.
Are you sending magic spells of complaints? Passive aggressiveness? Weakness? Powerlessness?
Or are you casting spells of determination, happiness, appreciation, love and confidence?
It all starts with the words you use.
Be careful of every single word you speak.
Start creating the 2.0 version of you through words.
If you knew, with 1 billion percent certainty that the words you speak create your reality, what would you say less of? What would you say more of?
3) The Superpower of Feelings
When you are thinking great thoughts and casting verbal spells that represent your greatest expression...the superpower of feeling naturally arises.
Every single thing we do, is in order to feel good.
So you might want 'more money' or 'confidence' or 'feel in control and powerful'.
What you really want is a feeling.
Why don't you just feel that way now, while you pursue your goals?
Why pursue anything feeling empty and unsatisfied?
Why focus on feeling powerless?
Put yourself in a state of appreciation.
For yourself and for others.
Love yourself. Love your life. Feel it fully and express it.
Remember, the superpower of feeling is activated through thoughts and words.
4) The Superpower of Action
Some days you will wake up filled with inspiration and excitement.
We call this 'attack mode'. You wake up and GO! Attacking all of what needs to be done.
Other times, you wake up and feel groggy. Unmotivated and distraction takes over your life.
The typical self development will advise you to just PUSH THROUGH! And use more DISCIPLINE to overcome your problems!
This strategy can work sometimes, but the quality of work will never be truly impactful.
To access the superpower of action you must focus on your energy.
This can be done with thoughts, words and feelings.
Focus on getting yourself into an empowered state.
Go for a walk. Be still. Meditate. Breathe deeply.
Get your self in a powerful state before you begin work.
From the place, you will create art.
Art that inspires and impacts on a scale beyond what you can recognize.
Listen up.
Allow me to stress the importance of this.
This might not be the sexiest thing you ever read. But there is not one piece of information more potent for the rest of your life.
Learn and take responsibility for your four superpowers.
Thoughts.
Feelings.
Action.
Words.
Improve them daily.
With your knew wisdom, let's make sure we ingrain this gold into your subconscious.
I'm seriously impressed.
It shows me a couple things:
- You are committed. Despite what you might think, you have the discipline inside of you.
- You aren't here to mental masturbate over information.
- You are someone who takes action (or you wouldn't have made it this far).
- You are open minded. I talked about some weird shit haha.
- You are genuinely interested in becoming a powerful human.
All traits that I greatly admire and respect.
I appreciate you deeply for reading thus far.
Now, let's review what you went over really quickly:
Knowing what we are capable of
We learned that John was not unique in his struggles. Many of us know what we are capable of.
We know what to do, yet we still falter.
Our inner Enemy overpowers us, and with no allies on our side we get defeated.
The question "is this all life has to be?" must be answered with a powerful NO!
Just like the air conditioning in my parents apartment, you might have accepted your reality is 'this is just how it is'.
Trust me brother. Trust the thousands of people within Declare War Within who have made something in their life.
Shit can and will get better if you work towards it.
Waking up to the truth.
We have the example of muddy water. How with deliberate and consistent focus, we can turn that muddy water into clean water.
We can transmute our feeling powerless into power.
It starts with understanding that we have an internal Enemy. With this awareness, we must protect our minds borders with all of our might and determination.
Every day is a spiritual war that must be fought tooth and nail as your soul is on the line.
An example to demonstrate this would be understanding that you are currently playing a single player game.
The four controls are what we call 'superpowers'. They must be developed, strengthened as they are the only way your life evolves and becomes all that it can be.
The Four Superpowers
You learn the four superpowers.
Thought. Feeling. Word. Action.
Not the sexiest words in the world, but infinitely powerful.
Every single one of them must be focused on with conscious awareness and focus in order to be developed.
This is how you create your reality.
This is how you become truly powerful. No more feeling powerless.
Now, you know what you are up against with your inner Enemy.
You have the awareness of the four superpowers.
It's time to put the muddy water principle into action.
We must feed your mind with the nourishment it craves.
The knowledge. The strategies. The mindset. The relationship with a community of people who are determined to defeat their inner Enemy and stop feeling powerless
