Subject: An introduction to DWW

It's been said that it's easier to rule an empire than to rule over ourselves.

Imagine being Alexander the Great for a moment. 

You are an emperor and ruler. Millions of people, different cultures all under you.

Yet...even with this incredible power, you could not control yourself. 

You couldn't find the the ability to govern your own passions and vices. 

Alexander the Great died at 32 years old.

Historians believe that it had to do with drinking too much alcohol.

Alexander conquered the world. He took a smaller army and defeated rival nations in unfamiliar terrains and larger forces.

In the external world, he was undefeated.

In the internal world, he was conquered.

We all have our addictions, our impulses, the Enemy that is sabotaging our ability to move forward.

Self doubt, fear, guilt, lack of energy, distraction, validation, neediness, anxiety, shame, boredom, demoralization, emotional injuries, lack of confidence, bad habits, terrible thoughts...

I could go on, but you get the picture.

These are our enemies.

No one is exempt from fighting this internal war. This war that will determine the type of legacy we leave on the planet.

Reading 'Die Empty' some time ago, I came across a story about the most expensive piece of land on earth. Was it Dubai? Manhattan? Maybe one of the 7 wonders of the world?

No, no and no.

The most expensive piece of land is the graveyard closest to your house.

The hundreds of dead bodies with dreams never realized.

Goals and ambitions never accomplished because of inner enemies never conquered.

War, Enemies, Battle..

Harsh terms? Perhaps. I thought so for some time.

When telling one of my friends about DWW he responded with:

“That’s too negative”. 

This led me to some deep thinking about the magic of language. 

A mentor of mine said we are all magicians.

Our magic? Is the words we use.  That’s the reason words are SPELLED. 

What spells have I chosen in deciding to name this movement Declare War Within?

Are these spells filled with fear and dark energy? Or are they filled with love?

I mean how could ‘War’ be meant with love?

While doing a nightly walk I pondered these topics.

War. Battle.... Enemies?

Outer success... inner success.

Is each spell the same or is the person casting it in charge?

The paradox of language.

Language is so important in showing us the beliefs we have. The words we use are so sacred and in the journey of inner refinement and growth tons of mental energy must be focused in on this.

However, on an even deeper level, the most important aspect of language is where it’s coming from.

I can tell someone I just met that “I hate you” while my heart is beaming with love and appreciation of them.

They will know the difference.

On paper, you read “I hate you” and you take it for the literal sense. 

Declare War Within, taken literally can be perceived as negative. 

I want to interject on your inner dialogue if you believe it so. DWW is nothing negative or dark. As we will grow and walk this journey together of self-mastery, you too will understand the severity of this inner battle. How it truly is war, and even that spell could be too light.

If you want to build a business, start a relationship, make money, become more confident, achieve any type of outer success.

 You must Declare War Within.

A quote from Tom Brown’s School Days by Thomas Hughes exemplifies this perfectly. 

“After all, what would life be without fighting, I should like to know? From the cradle to the grave, fighting, rightly understood, is the business, the real, highest, honestest business of every son of man. Every one who is worth his salt has his enemies, who must be beaten, be they evil thoughts and habits in himself or spiritual wickedness in high places, or Russians, or border-ruffians, or Bill, tom, or harry, who will not let him live his life in quiet till he has thrashed them. “

In this case, we will not focus on Bill, Tom or Harry and the enemies on the outside.

The countless enemies all lining up waiting for a chance to destroy your every progress you have made in your life.

Impulses. Demoralization. Fear. Guilt. Shame. Habits. Greed. Victimhood. Evil.

There is a force connecting all of your enemies together. A force that wants to destroy your progress and delete your potential.

Call it the Devil, call it whatever you want.

It's an invisible force that keeps us small.

It’s a force that single handily will do anything to sabotage you.

Just because it's invisible does not mean it's not there. Take a pencil or pen off your desk if you have one and drop it to the floor. Did you see gravity? Does you not visually seeing it mean that gravity did not just work it's magic?

This is no Jedi shit, this force is real. 

Remember that time you said you would start the diet and didn’t?

That workout plan?

That budget?

That project you wanted to start but never did? 

That emotional injury that you hold tight to your chest from years ago? 

That fear that holds you trapped in a limit filled life?

What if I could just.....?

Fill in the blank. I'll wait. 

Step 1. Choose the enemy (awareness)

Step 2. Strategize the attack and defense

Step 3. Declare War inwardly through commitment

Step 4. Defeat the enemy, win at all costs.

Step 5. Repeat 

Too many battles on too many fronts and you lose them all.

Choose an Enemy, and declare war. Plant your flag on the terrain of your mind and renounce all hope of retreat.

Only then will your throne await you.
