How To Get Your Life Together – Part 2/3 (Become The Shark)

Subject: Get your life together 2/3

Location: Orlando, Florida

This is part 2, check out part 1 here and part 3 here.

It's time to stop pissing away time and get your life together.

Last week, we demonstrated the power of the snake. The snake symbolizes the need to shed your skin, and re-invent yourself. The snake that doesn't shed, dies.

The person that doesn't move forward into growth while scraping off the old dies as well. This is portrayed by the shark. The shark only moves forward. It cannot stop and go backwards, once the shark stops moving, it dies.

The Shark

get your life together

The shark is the apex predator in the water. It must keep moving for that is how it breathes. It breathes through movement. Without movement, a shark dies. The shark knows this, and continues forward into the wild no matter what the cost.

1. Your Roots are the Environment

Two of the most important aspects of your environment.

Your relationships: Family, friends, roommates, people at work, your partner.

Your Castle: your apartment, house, room, kitchen, bathroom, living room.

Are your friends ambitious? Do they have goals? Are they striving to become better humans?

"You're the average of the five people you spend the most time with." - Jim Rohn

You might have seen that quote before - however look at it with a different lense today.

If I, for example tomorrow came to where you live and met with all of your friends, talked with them for a couple days. What would I learn about you? Could I guess your goals and the action you are taking to achieve them?

What would I learn if I entered your Castle? Checked out your room? Would I see order or chaos? Inspiration or desperation?

In order to truly get your life together, you must discard the parts of your life that are not serving you.

get your life together

Clean your apartment and house. Put up pictures of people that inspire you. Repaint the walls. Clean your desk of clutter. Build a book shelf. Make your bed.

Be proud of the area you live in no matter how small.

In regards to relationships, less is more. You must stop 'hanging out' with the blood suckers. If you want to get your life together, you must pay the price. The price is work and sacrifice of immediate gratification. Cut the people that are not serving you at least temporarily, while you get your life back in order. Remember that you cannot help them until you help yourself. This is about getting YOU back to YOU.

2. If Your Body is Weak Your Mind Is Weak

To fix the body, you must go to the mind.

To fix the mind, you must go to the body.

Create a daily practice of some type that will harden the body in order to develop mental toughness. It can be as small as some pushups or squats in the morning. Go for a three hour walk. Run up a hill. Anything.

Train the body in order to strengthen the mind. Develop the mindset of a champion this way.

The external is just a showcase of the internal. If your life is in absolute chaos and everything is going to shit, then internally it's the same.

Put your life back in order by developing a body that you are proud of.

PS. This is more than just looking good. It's about heading toward physical stress and pain while keeping calm. Breaking down the old muscle in order to build anew.

3. Wake Up Early

When you choose to wake up early consistently, you must go to sleep earlier.

By going to sleep earlier, you are paying the price to live the life you desire. You are saying no to the night out with 'the boys' and choosing to focus on creating the future you desire.

Wake up at the same time every day, and make it early.

If you have a day job, this time is crucial. Make this absolutely sacred.

It is shocking what you can accomplish when waking up early. By 9AM I have done more than most people will do the entire day.

This is the time you create for you and you alone. Meditate, journal, work on your passion, read, walk, workout. The options are endless.

Don't let time be an excuse for your lack of motivation.

4. Pick a Mountain Top, Climb It And Don't Tell A Soul

The path to self mastery, starts by Declaring War Within.

You have met the Enemy, you realize it's ferocious power. You understand that it will stop at nothing until it has destroyed your potential. You know all this and fight it daily.

Up until this point, you obviously are not satisfied with where your life is going. However, in part 1 you realized that it is all your fault. And you are the only reason why your life is shit.

It's a tough pill to swallow but you do so willingly because you are not a victim.

It's time to choose a mountain top, climb it and not tell a soul.

Choosing a mountain top: What's a goal that you can accomplish in 90 days?

Maybe it's a climbing a literal mountain near where you live. Maybe it's reading five books. Maybe it's starting a business and working on it everyday.

It can be anything, but YOU choose.

Choose to commit to something and make it happen. It must be challenging, will require an abundance of action, a chance of failing and something that you would be proud of accomplishing.

It doesn't have to be 90 days, could be less or more. It's your mountain top.

Once you accomplish the goal, don't tell anyone about it for at least 1 year.

You are doing this for you. You are doing this to proof that you are not just some fuck up. Accomplish something and continue moving forward like the shark. Every day in forward motion.

5. Eliminate Your Addiction

Stop smoking weed. Stop having a 'nightcap'. Stop the cigarettes.

Choose an addiction that you know deep in your gut, is not serving you. No matter how many rationalizations the Enemy uses to change your mind.

"It helps with your creativity"

"It helps with your anxiety"

It's all bullshit. You are stronger than this addiction and you know it.

Choose one addiction that you vow to stop using for at least 90 days. Commit to this period. Show the Enemy who the boss is. Put yourself back on the throne, and plant a flag on the mental terrain of your mind.

This is part 2, click here for part 3.

Channel your shark.

Focus on forward movement and don't stop. You are shedding your skin, discarding the old in order to grow into what you must become. That person that you are becoming requires forward motion.

Continue moving, get your life together and I'll see you next week.

With love,

Daniel
